Cookie Policy
How we use cookies and local storage to run analytics and save your preferences.

Cookie Policy Details
Cookies right now
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use this site, through heatmaps and session recordings of clicks, scrolling and page navigation. Clarity does not run, and no cookies are set, until you accept the notice at the bottom of the page. If you decline or ignore it, only strictly necessary storage is used (see below).
Cloudflare Web Analytics
We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see overall visitor numbers and page views. It's built to be cookieless: it doesn't set cookies, use local storage, or track you individually across visits or sites, so it runs for every visitor regardless of your choice in the cookie notice. It's not linked to anything else in this policy. See Cloudflare's own Web Analytics page for how it works.
Cookies Clarity sets, once accepted
- _clck - remembers your Clarity user ID and preferences across visits to this site
- _clsk - links your page views together into a single session recording
- CLID - identifies when Clarity first saw you, across any site using Clarity
- MUID, ANONCHK, SM - Microsoft identifiers shared across Microsoft's own sites, used here for analytics rather than advertising
Clarity masks sensitive content such as form input by default before anything is sent to Microsoft, though we still recommend not including anything you wouldn't want recorded in free-text fields like our contact form. Clarity is provided by Microsoft and processes data under Microsoft's own privacy statement (privacy.microsoft.com).
Strictly necessary storage
Whether or not you accept, we store one small preference in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) to remember your choice and stop the notice reappearing on every visit.
Managing your preferences
You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain, which brings the notice back on your next visit. Most browsers also let you block cookies entirely in their privacy settings, though this may affect how some websites work.
